June 2, 2026, Statewide Direct Primary Election

Voting options:

  • Vote early at the Registrar of Voters beginning May 4, 2026.
  • Vote early at an Early Voting Location.
  • Vote a Mail Ballot.
    • Mail ballot applications are not necessary. Mail ballots are mailed to all active registered voters.
    • To request a replacement mail ballot:
  • Voters may return their voted mail ballot:
    • At a Mail Ballot Drop-off Location

      • Ballots must be delivered no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2
    • By mail via the U.S. Postal Service
      • No postage required
      • Ballots must be postmarked on or before Tuesday, June 2 and received by the Registrar of Voters within seven days following the election.
    • Drop off at an Early Voting Location
    • Drop off at any Polling Place [available soon] on Election Day
  • Vote a Remote Accessible Vote by Mail Ballot [available soon] using your computer and printer to:
    • Mark your ballot
    • Print your voted ballot
    • Place your voted ballot in your Mail Ballot Return Envelope or in your own envelope with mailing labels attached
    • Sign and date your envelope
    • Return your ballot by mail or to a Polling Place [available soon], Early Voting Location, or Mail Ballot Drop-off Location [available soon].

Voters with a disability

  • Ballot Marking Devices are available at each voting location and include the following options:
    • Audio, large print, high contrast, controls for speed and volume, use controller or use touch screen
    • Bring your own headset or use ours
    • Adaptable for sip-and-puff devices.
  • Vote a Remote Accessible Vote by Mail Ballot [available soon] using your computer and printer to:
    • Mark your ballot
    • Print your voted ballot
    • Place your voted ballot in your Mail Ballot Return Envelope or in your own envelope with mailing labels attached
    • Sign and date your envelope
    • Return your ballot by mail or to a Polling Place [available soon], Early Voting Location, or Mail Ballot Drop-off Location [available soon].
  • Curbside Voting
    • Voters with disabilities may take advantage of our easy-to-navigate curbside voting option. Follow these instructions:
      • At the Registrar of Voters or a Polling Place, park in the location designated for curbside voting.
      • Use your cellphone to call for curbside voting assistance. The phone number is printed on the curbside voting sign. Be ready to provide the make, model and color of your vehicle to the operator.
      • Elections Workers will be out to assist you soon.

Military and Overseas Voters:

Uniformed and Overseas citizens can obtain a Voter Information Guide [available soon] as well as a Ballot [available soon] for this election. For complete information, visit the Secretary of State’s website for Military and Overseas Voters.

Eligible citizens that have not registered:

A new California law allows citizens to register and vote after the registration deadline. In order to qualify, the voter submits a conditional voter registration application in person at the Registrar of Voters, an Early Voting Location or a polling place. After completing the application, the voter will be provided with a provisional ballot.
