Secure, accessible, and locked ballot boxes are made available for ballot drop-offs no later than October 5 through 8 p.m. on Election Day. Outdoor ballot drop boxes are made of heavy 18-gauge steel; equipped with security features, such as minimal ballot insertion slots, and water and fireproof materials; locked; and bolted to concrete on the inside of the box to deter theft. Ballot Drop Box locations are placed in areas that have higher public visibility, and ballots are picked up by official election workers on a regular basis for processing.
