At the 2013 Consolidated Election held on November 5, three seats for the office of Governing Board Member went up for election. In that election, Darlene Bracken and Nathan Cranmer were elected to two seats, and a tie vote for the third seat occurred between Michael “Jake” Goodman and Greg Seifert. To resolve the tie vote between the two candidates, the Governing Board Members of the Baker Valley Unified School District ordered a Special Runoff Election and asked the Elections Office of the Registrar of Voters to conduct the election.
